San Juan Kayaking 2009
Dylan, Mark and I went kayaking in the San Juan Islands for the third year, this time with Rachel and Matt and a new route featuring crossings of deep open water. We also got to go back to Point Doughty, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. We got to experience strong currents, which it turns out are best avoided, even when they’re generally going in your direction! We saw many Bald Eagles this year. Otters and jellyfish too. The Orca Whales are still eluding us. Next year, maybe.
Another highlight: instead of boil-in-the-bag dehydrated food, gourmet cooking by Dylan!
